Vampires = Rabies Victims

=

I found a really interesting article about the correlation of rabies victims to vampires. All you girls out there who are obsessed with Edward from Twilight might want to reconsider now!

Basically, the article discusses how victims of rabies have symptoms similar to the traits of vampires. These are the similarities -

1. A large rabies outbreak occurred in Europe during the 18th century, which is also when and where the vampire legend orginated.

2. Common carriers of rabies - bats, dogs, rats - are all forms that vampires have been known to take.

3. Both are aggressive and extremely sexual.

4. Many victims of rabies suffer from insomnia, keeping them up at night, just like vampires.

5. Both are hypersensitive to light and shiny objects, like mirrors, and to strong smells, such as garlic.

6. The rabies virus apparently causes an aversion to water.

7. Facial spasms occur in rabies victims, making them bare their teeth.

8. Rabies is more common in men than women, which is the case in old vampire tales.

9. Both rabies and vampirism can be transferred via a bite.

Here is the article -

Rabies May Have Inspired Vampire Legend

So anyone who really wants to become a vampire now, I guess the best bet would be to get infected with rabies. Unfortunately, rabies won't make you immortal - only quicken your death. Choose wisely! A short life full of vampire coolness, or your humanity!

Need HTML help for your blogs?

There is this super cool website that helps people learn html. Its called htmlPlayground - go figure. Anyways, it gives you a list of tags used in html text that you can click to see a description of what it does, then see a sample of how the tag would be used. Its really handy, I'm sure it will help someone customize their blog.
Heres the link!

Reading Test

This is actually pretty cool. This might be related, but has anyone ever looked at a word really hard, only to think it is spelled completely wrong when it is spelled right? Maybe thats because we actually are looking at every letter by itself for one of the first times, which makes it just seems so wrong. Interesting thought. What do you all think?

Jackson Pollock

Ok, so I'm taking a break from my papers now and I found a pretty sweet website that was entertaining enough to get my mind off from my work. Its a flash page that lets you create your own Jackson Pollock paintings!

Make a Jackson Pollock painting!

Every time you move the mouse, lines and drops of "paint" appear on the screen and when you click the mouse, it will change to a new color. Here is my quick little painting....

If you want more information, then here is a wikipedia link to Jackson Pollock.

YouTube also has some pretty interesting videos of him. I've watched several videos in my visual arts classes about Jackson Pollock. He was a pretty interesting guy.

Kongregate

I have two essays due tomorrow and a book I still need to finish, but I've wanted to post this website all day now.

This website, Kongregate, always gets me through the boring parts of my day. It is a website dedicated to thousands of really fun flash games! I have always been addicted to flash games, I like being able to play something different and short when I have just a few minutes and can get access to them from almost any computer. I pretty much spend hours and hours on this website playing games and waiting for new ones to get uploaded.

Another fun thing about Kongregate is that that you can get "badges" and points when you beat specific achievements on the games. As you complete badges that range from easy worth five points, medium worth fifteen points, hard worth thirty points, and impossible worth sixty points, you will level up. As of now, leveling up does nothing for you, except show off to other gamers how much time you waste. Eventually, the website says that they will have specific contests and prizes for the players who are higher levels. Currently, I am level 19 with 2,473 points. Yeah...I play a lot.

There are a few prizes and contests they hold every now and then. The website was giving away an XBox 360 with Fallout 3 in one contest and in another they had a Nintendo DS with Monsters Lab or something as a prize. Sadly, I didn't win either, but I completed the achievement to get a raffle ticket!

Also, for those of you who like card games, like Magic, Yu-gi-oh, or pokemon or something, Kongregate has its own card game called Kongai. You create a small deck from character or item cards, which you win through completing game achievements. You can then battle other players and eventually unlock even more powerful cards.

Anyways, Kongregate is awesome and it really kills the spare time you might have. I'm posting the link to the website and where you can sign up. Its free to sign up and they don't ask you any real personal questions or email you anything. My name on Kongregate is ender6275, you can add me as a friend if you'd like!

Kongregate website!

I hope some people find this interesting and fun!

Lazy, Busy Days

So, I'm making this blog to just post about stuff I do throughout the day.

At first, I was torn when making this. I wanted to create a blog where I could post fun things I find and do throughout the day and share them with others so they could have fun too. I also wanted a blog where I could just write whatever the hell I wanted to. So, I'm just combining them. This should be fun and interesting!

Now, for the first thing I'd like to share - my photo blog for my photojournalism class!

http://epicadventuresofmark.blogspot.com/

Yup! That blog is for all my photos I have taken for my class. I'll also keep using it for pictures as I take them. Check that blog a lot too for updates!
